Kate S. is a Pro. Full Stop.

I do marvel at the insight of young people. Kate, having blogged for a very short time, seems to have captured the essence of a good comment. Clearly, she is a Pro Commenter. What do you think of the points she makes? If you agree, or if you have other ideas, why not go to The Grapevine (a year 4/5 blog in Tasmania) and tell her.

(By the way, North Americans, a full stop is a period at the end of sentence.)

Do you have anything to add? Please leave a Kate-like comment 🙂

  1. Hello people I’m from the grapevine blog and I see you have copied something of our blog. And thank you for letting Kate have a star moment in the light. And g’day.

  2. Hello guys,

How are you all? Thanks so much for saying that my comment was good. I love blogging because you can meet new people and have conversations with them about their lives and what they do where they live. I hope everybody loves blogging as well because you can learn new things.

Thanks again, I feel very happy,

    Kate S.

    1. Hi Kate, I am excited for you and your blogging career. You and your classmates really do understand the importance of connection through meaningful conversations. Happy days, Ms. Smith

Thank you for sharing Kate’s wonderful comment, we have been looking at focussing on comments again in our class and Kate’s really put forward such an outstanding explanation, I can’t believe it! I think that I will share it with my class of students, via your class page, via Kate so I can tell my students that ‘this is what I want them to do’. Wonderful

    1. What I think is particularly outstanding is that Kate is quite a young blogger. She has a lot to teach adults, too!

  4. Hello Mrs.Smith,

I’m Alex from Mrs. Braidwood’s class. I’ve read the post and found it quite helpful. I wish I could remember all that by heart. By the way is Kate from your class? Anyway thanks very much for the useful tips and have a great day!

    1. Hi Alex! This is Max from Huzzah! I find those tips helpful too, even though this is my 2nd year blogging! Kate is not from our class, she is in Mrs. Viney class! You have a great day too!

      Bye for now, Max

  5. I love the picture of the chicken reading a book and your class picture. I hope your blogging goes well. And i hope I get my blog going.

  6. Hi Mrs. Smith,

I’m a grade seven student in Mrs. Braidwood`s class. I completely agree with you Mrs. Smith. Kate has a lot to teach everyone at her school and many schools across the world about good commenting and blogging.

Thank you for teaching me good ways to blog Kate. I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge.
Can anyone tell me their thoughts on good commenting or blogging? We are getting individual blogs soon.

    1. Hi Madeline, we will be visiting your new blog when it “hatches”. I think the best advice is to READ – READ – READ blogs and comments, too. Then comment, comment, comment….You will be inspired by what you read and you will build meaningful links with others.
      Best wishes to you 🙂

  7. Hello, I’m Josee from Mrs. Braidwood’s class. I think that Kate has a really great imagination! I have never seen a comment so thoughtful and long! I think that it was great that Mrs. Smith reconized the comment too. She is a real pro at commenting!

    1. It was just a bit of luck that I spotted Kate’s comment. If I am a pro it’s because I learned from others. There has been a lot of action on that post since: you can read it here. Maybe you’ll leave a comment on it too. 🙂

  8. I like how you showed me to be helpful and nice and how to avoid being rude. I now know that when I say something I will need to have the right punctuation.

    1. True very true I agree with everything you say about the punctuation being polite and being helping others. Thank you for commenting.

  9. Hello, I’m Liam from Mrs.Braidwoods class. I’m in grade 7.
I think Mrs.Smith’s comment will help my class blog with blogging.
Our class just went to WeDay and it’s a good experience to remember

    Goodbye and Happy Blogging!

  10. Hey Kate,
    How are you today?
We were wondering whether we would be allowed to write a guide to quality comments on our blog using your tips as a reference (because they are so good!). Get back to us as soon as you can.
